| Biography
Dionisio Ceballos was born in Mexico City where he had his main foundation as a self-taught artist, portraying in his first work this urban life. He did his bachelor studies in Communications at Universidad Ibero Americana. During this period he manifested an interest in film and adopted this language into his paintings. His first participation as an artist in the world of film was through an animated short film entitled, "Four Ways to Cover a Hole" (official selection for Cannes Festival, 1996). In1997 he had his first individual exhibition in the Museum of Popular Cultures and from that year until 2002, he participated in several collective ones throughout Mexico, including the exhibit, Homage to the Pencil at the José Luis Cuevas Museum.

In 2001, Dionisio was invited to paint several reproductions of the work of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, for the Miramax Film, Frida, starring Salma Hayek. A year later, one of his original pieces was also chosen to be the main scenic element of “Te Amo” a Swiss-Mexican Theater co-production.

In 2002, Dionisio moved with wife and daughter to the U.S. This cultural blend brought about a whole new body of work and ushered in different commissions. His Road Series is a collection of landscape paintings inspired from his journey from Mexico City to Louisville, Kentucky.
The Brown Forman Corporation invited Dionisio to paint a large expressionist oil scene for the Jack Daniels’ Whiskey Distillery. A year later they selected him to do a painting for the label of the 2004 Woodford Reserve(The Official Bourbon of The Kentucky Derby), and also sponsored his work for their Gallopalooza horse.

In 2006, Dionisio wrote and directed his first short film entitled At the End of the Day -an uplifting narrative of a day in the life of an undocumented Mexican worker, which premiered at the Miami International Film Festival 2007 and was also screened at the Short Film Corner at the 2007 Cannes Festival, among other international film festivals.
Currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Erin Delaney and their daughter Emilia, he continues to create his art in both paint and film. In January 2007 he joined fellow film artist and producer Satya Debra Simmons to form

Biografía
Dionisio Ceballos es originario de la Ciudad de México, donde principia su carrera como artista autodidacta, reflejando en sus primeras obras ese mundo urbano. Obtiene su licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación en la Universidad Iberoamericana. Durante este período manifiesta un claro interés en el cine, adoptando este lenguaje en sus pinturas. Su primera participación como artista en el mundo cinematográfico es a través del cortometraje de animación, titulado “Cuatro Maneras de Tapar un Hoyo” (Selección oficial del Festival de Canes, 1996). En1997 presenta su primera exposición individual en el Museo de las Culturas Populares y participa desde ese año al 2002 en diferentes exposiciones colectivas en México, incluyendo la exposición Homenaje al Lapíz en el Museo José Luis Cuevas.

En el año 2001, Dionisio es invitado a pintar varias reproducciones de la artista mexicana Frida Kahlo, para la película Frida, estelarizada por Salma Hayek. El siguiente año, uno de sus cuadros también fue electo para usarse como el elemento escénico principal de “Te Amo” una co-producción teatral Suizo-Mexicana.

En el año 2002, Dionisio se muda con su esposa e hija a los Estados Unidos. Su Serie del Camino es una colección de paisajes inspirados en este viaje de la Ciudad de México a Louisville, Kentucky. Esta amalgama cultural trae una nueva obra plástica que desemboca en diferentes comisiones.
La corporación Brown Forman invita a Dionisio a pintar una pieza expresionista de gran formato para la Destilería de Jack Daniels. Un año después es elegido para pintar la etiqueta conmemorativa de Woodford Reserve 2004 (El Bourbon Oficial del Derby de Kentucky). Pinta también el caballo patrocinado por esta misma empresa para el desfile “Gallopallooza”.

En 2006, Dioniso escribe y dirige su primer cortometraje titulado Al Final del Día -una historia enaltecedora en la vida de un mexicano indocumentado, el cual se presentó en el Festival de Cine Internacional de Miami 2007 asi como en el Short Film Corner durante el Festival de Cannes 2007, entre otros festivales internacionales de cine.
Recientemente se mudo al area de San Frnacisco con su esposa Erin Delaney y su hija Emilia, donde continua desarrollando su trabajo como pintor y cineasta. En enero del 2007, en colaboración con la productora Satya Debra Simmons fundan Blue Monk Productions, una casa productora enfocada al cine independiente.
